Text Box: A suggested historical journey from Glasgow to Nottingham, perhaps forced by circumstances rather than choice, linking factory employment with the creation of individual hand-made objects. The piece includes references to cable-making as part of the rich history of shipbuilding in Glasgow, thread-making from Paisley and lace-making in Nottingham. It is also about how a family might move and dissipate through generations.

The map fragment shows Loch Doone, South of Glasgow, with the eponymous music in the background. Other materials include modroc, lace, rust-staining, hand-made silk paper, hand-knitted cotton, photographs, copper wire, machine embroidery, hand-stitching and antique buttons.
